BCM Award Videoproduktion Elbphilharmonie Orgel

Our documentary about the construction of the Elbphilharmonie organ has been awarded with a BCM Silver Award in the category “Non Fiction / Best Practice”! With over 700 submissions, the “BCM” Best of Content Marketing is the largest competition for content-driven corporate communications in Europe. Since 2003, the Content Marketing Forum, together with the industry media acquisa, Horizont, persönlich, CP Wissen and CP Monitor, has been honoring the best corporate publications.

The Best of Content Marketing Award ceremony took place on 29 June 2017 in Berlin’s Westhafen Event and Convention Center WECC. The organ of the Elbphilharmonie is just as special as the building itself – the room in which it is built and in which it sounds is absolutely unique. Developing and constructing the organ for Hamburg’s new landmark was therefore a very special task for the builder. The documentation traces this process from planning to completion in a unique way.

The film makes it clear: even the organ of the Elbphilharmonie once started very small. The camera goes on a search for traces in the workshop of organ builder Philipp Klais, who gives an insight into his studio and explains what a pipe kindergarten is – and why the pipes there first have to be taught to speak. Then the film accompanies the titular organist of the Elbphilharmonie Iveta Apkalna on her musical encounter with the organ. This is how an atmospheric film was made about the “Birth of a Majesty”, the organ of the Elbphilharmonie.
