The digital concert series “Song of America: A Celebration of Black Music” celebrates the music and lyrics of African American composers, sung and performed by a predominantly African American cast led by baritone Thomas Hampson and his co-curator Louise Toppin.
In “Elbphilharmonie Talk,” Thomas Hampson, Louise Toppin, Lawrence Brownlee, Roderick Cox and Leah Hawkins (moderated by Tom R. Schulz) talk about the project, which marks the grand finale of the 2021 Hamburg International Music Festival, presented by Thomas Hampson and Louise Toppin.
