The task

The “PLEEC” project – Planning for energy efficient cities – aims to make European cities more energy efficient and thus successfully contribute to the EU’s climate goals. A model for energy-efficient and sustainable urban planning was developed in the course of the project on the basis of six medium-sized European partner cities. At the final conference of the project a short film should introduce the project and open the scientific conference in an interesting way.

Execution

Using 2D and 3D animation, an explanatory film was animated which highlights the most important challenges and goals of the project and illustrates concrete measures. As this was a scientific project, it was important for the Hochschule für Angewandte Wissenschaften to achieve a good balance between the scientific content and goals as well as a simple and emotional presentation. Infused 3D visualizations of the facts ensure that, in addition to the hard facts and figures, the statistics also become audiovisually comprehensible.
