The task

Once a year, PHOTOPIA turns Hamburg into the center of the digital imaging scene for four days. As an interface for the industry, industry representatives, filmmakers, photographers and the public, the festival offers concentrated inspiration for all film and photography enthusiasts. The “who’s who” of photography, videography, art and social media will be speaking on the two lovingly designed stages.


On behalf of Hamburg Messe und Congress GmbH, we developed a unique content design for the festival. Inspired by this year’s key visuals, which are based on real images and motifs from the plant world, we created various creative little hybrid creatures and little heroes that run through the entire content like friendly companions. A 3D-animated key visual, flanked by containers that are iconic for the festival, forms the “crowning finale”, in which everything that makes up PHOTOPIA comes together once again visually.
