On August 4, 2020, a massive explosion rocked the city center of Beirut. Now the rubble is being turned into a book of hope: The book “Stones of Beirut” tells of the city’s unique culture – captured in stories, photographs, drawings, poems. It is printed on stone paper, made from the rubble left by the explosion at the port.
To ensure that as many people as possible learn about it and donate, we supported the project by filming the trailer for the campaign. Here are a few impressions of the shoot with a very special book.
The revenue from the sale of the book, which can be ordered now and will be published in November, and donations will be collected by the stern e.V. foundation and passed on to the Lebanese aid organization Beit el Baraka in Beirut. The NGO has been active in the city for years, supporting local people with various programs in the form of education, social and medical aid – and, of course, wherever reconstruction is needed.
